I thought you were talking about repayment of the trust money borrowed by the fed gov?

Repaying of that money is indeed going to have to come from income taxes or other non-SS taxes.

Once the fund is drawn down than the same thing will be true. It won't be a repayment of borrowed money anymore but the practical result is the same both before and after all the money is repayed.
