You mention several times just how little I mean to you. How much I mean to you is better illustrated by the fact that you take the time to make a post containing over a thousand words to me.
Well, once again, frequency means very little here. Substance is the ticket. Were you attacking me personally, this little "discussion" would have ended after the first few posts (depending upon how much hilarity I could have extracted from it).
You know, you seem a nice sort, I guess. The problem I have with you is this thing you do where you take a few cracks at a guy that are illegal even by your own standards, and then when the guy cracks you with illegal punches of his own, you appeal to the authorities, causing the guy to be arrested as you hide like a sniveling little coward behind the skirt of the law.
In other words if someone (from your side) had made a complaint about me would you send them several posts of great length in support of me?
Whether I would send posts in your defense depends upon several factors, such as the reason for the complaint against you, the response of the authorities to the complaint, and your response afterward. Were I to discover that someone complained against you because you told the exact same joke GZ told, I likely would have ignored the entire thing, as I almost always do, dismissing it as guys trying to get under each other's skins. But if in scanning over the messages I came across one of those "SI Admin(Dave)" thingys in response to a complaint, then I almost certainly would have publicly complained to the guy complaining against you, trying to give the guy some perspective on the importance of your comments in the grand scheme of things. This is especially true if the guy has already engaged in bad conduct (as is the case with you). And if the guy's response to me was one wherein he continued to defend his dishonor, well, we are gonna have it out - no doubt about it.
Contrary to how it may seem to you, I really do not have a "side" here. It is just that more often than not, I despise your side more than I despise the other. So I am generally engaged in a pragmatic alliance with, and even a natural affinity for many of the folks here who you would consider on the "right." In truth, I only go where my values take me. This means I am always at odds with leftists, and occassionally at odds with some folks on the so-called "right".
I have seen that almost every single dang time when guys on what you call "my side" complain against you leftists, it is because you folks just spew nonsense that clutters the forums. There have been times when I have encouraged the fellas not to complain even against this, but I really can't blame them too much here. It is hard to blame them when they banned Sylvester80, for example. The guy constantly posted the purest sort of trash. We'd get (I'm not kidding here) TWENTY FRIGGIN' POSTS (no lie, zonk) all in a row, in capital letters saying the same thing - posts like
"BUSH IS A MONKEY!!!!!!!!!!!! A MONKEY!! A MONKEY!!!!
That's it! Twenty friggin' of 'em. It was just crazy. I don't want anyone banned even for this nonsense. But, you know, you can't expect me to make an argument against banning such a nincompoop. I do my best to help you leftists. I really do, at least when it comes to complaints against you and banning you. I'll be honest, I like having you dweebs around. So I am not acting altruistically. But DANG! Your side is just a whole heap a lot stupider than the other side. You have to admit that. So when you folks are banned, there isn't really a whole lot that I can say in your defense.
I wonder if you would even do that if someone had reported me for something which I hadn't done or had anything to do with. I don't think you would.
If someone reported you for something you had nothing to at all to do with, in other words you were minding your own business and out of the blue had "SI (Dave)" breathing down your neck here, and I knew of a certainty that you were innocent, there is no doubt in my mind at all that I would protest on your behalf. The problem is, that sort of scenario is just pure fantasy, because being here almost always means you are not innocent.
What I like about this place here is that we are allowed to be bitter enemies, even playing unfairly with logic against one another. The more emotionally invested the combatants are, the greater their interests tend to be in defeating their opponents. So you know you are getting the best, impromptu effort from all sides. There is great value in that.
Pal, the thing to do here is not whine when someone claims you sent PM's about sporking camels. That makes you look weird. You should have read the accusation, grinned, and then figured out how you could legitimately turn it against your opponent. Had GZ done something like that to me, I probably would have said something like this: "GZ, you ought not be so dishonest. I admit, I have sporked a few camels and sent you some notes about it. But I only sent the notes because you and I sporked those camels together. Now you are trying to act as if you've never had anything to do with it. You were right there with me, enjoying every minute of it. Now be honest, for a change."
That would have taken care of the thing. He would have been forced to defend himself, or shut up. Either way, the focus would have moved from you, back to GZ (at least in part). Then you could have REALLY had some fun. "And now that we are getting honest here, let's just put it all out on the table (you really ought not have done this, GZ. Not after all the stuff you've told me. Now you are in for it)...", etc., etc.
There really is no limit to the entertainment potential here. But all of this ridiculous whining about so much nonsense is just stupid. This is a forum, pal - with folks you don't even know and who don't even know you. You should keep that in mind and for goodness sake leave SI out of it. (sheesh) |
