I think the monarchy's popularity is at a all time low.
WE have ZERO obligation to the Queen. That goes for Australia also.
Canada is Canada! It was once part of the British colony and for quite sometime has been a sovereign Country.

Maybe doing a little research on Canada would help you.

Paul Martin who is a Liberal. Is very right of center. Our Conservatives were in power for most of the 80's.But lately are going through what the Dems in America are going through.
Identity crisis.
