For some time I have agreed with the often expressed sentiment that you cannot truly be an environmentalist unless you are a vegan as well

You cannot truly be an environmentalist unless you live in a stone, concrete, or straw house, or some other structure not made of wood. Using wood for building destroys forests, which are essential for preventing soil erosion and renewing the atmosphere.

I certainly hope you aren't living in a house which contributed to the destruction of our environment, and that you don't use furniture made of wood or any other wooden items in your life.

Save a tree. Sit on a concrete floor.

And of course you can't use anything plastic. The environmental costs of drilling for the oil used in plastics and forming the plastics are mind boggling.

Cotton clothing is also out -- Growing cotton plants is very environmentally unfriendly. And rayon, nylon, etc. are out -- oil based products. UGH for the atmosphere.

Wool is okay -- it's a renewable resource. But of course only from organically raised, free range sheep.
