China is going to have almost as much trouble filling its water needs as it will with oil, not to mention its problems with pollution. Wait til they start syphoning from the Himalayas before the runoff gets to the Ganges and the Mekong. Won't that be fun?

While that author makes a good point about energy, to say that China has abandoned communism is ridiculous. It is still a very controlled society in many key ways- a capitalist anti-democratic society. Hmmm. Sounds like our future.
