Although I am sure everyone just laughs and thinks it is a funny joke. In my opinion, there is nothing much more amusing and scary at the same time as a middle-aged woman hopped up and looking for sexual pleasure! Except for a middle-aged (or older) man all ready to go on Viagra. I thought the gummi bears were pretty insensitive from an animal rights standpoint. One of the things I noticed after I stopped eating meat is that I just became more aware of the gratuituous violence, or the implication thereof, in regard to animals. Seemingly pretty harmless ads like the California happy cow ad campaign started bothering me, because I know most cows are miserably unhappy and do not spend their lives frolicking with their calves and gossiping with their girlfriends in rollling green hills, hanging out under shade trees. There is an billboard ad for a local hamburger chain that I saw that really bothered me that wouldn't have before, either. It is a picture of some ice cream treats and milkshakes, and the wording says COW YOU DONE GOOD! Aside from the bad grammar, which of course just grates on English majors like me, it just seems so inappropriate to thank a cow, who can't read, of course, anyway, for suffering in agony to produce ten times more milk than cows do in nature, all saturated with growth hormones and antibiotics, to make totally fattening, unhealthy and unnecessary products. Well, I have had soy soft serve ice cream and it is really good. I might want something like that on a hot day if it didn't cause living beings pain. Okay, now I will shut up and go cook dinner. We are having soy beer brats sauteed with fried onions, home fries with more onions and chives, cucumber, tomato and avocado salad, and toast made from Stonehenge bread from the breadmaker, which I am just loving and having so much fun with right now. The bread has millet in it, very healthy! An ancient bread! I hope no one makes any cracks about eating bird food. I am sure it is quite delicious! Incidentally, anyone looking for a very good bread machine cookbook should check this one out. I have been happily making every bread in it for several weeks, and have barely made a dent in the wonderful recipes. I would also love suggestions for other amazing bread machine cookbooks if you know of any:amazon.com
