I don't think Abbas = Arafat, Nadine. Just how far he is removed from Arafat's rascality is yet to be determined. I understand he was a rabid terrorist in the past.

There are so many groups out there who hate Israel and want to disrupt the present detente that it will be difficult to proceed. I figure the best judge of this is Sharon. If we had one of the old leftist Israeli PM's in power, this whole thing would be impossible.

In any case, I think whatever the Pals do, Sharon will move the settlers out and complete the fence. Then let the Pal's howl. If they armor up-get artillery for instance-and try to attack, they will be easy to beat. They can only be successful with these small scale sneak attacks.
