My GUESS is that prices in bubble markets like New York and California will give up roughly half the gains seen over the past four years by 2008 if we top out shortly.

I don't know if it'll happen by 2008, but my guess is before it ends the market will have given up more than all of the gains since 04. Otherwise, it will have paid to have bought into what was already a bubble market, in 04.

When I got married in 01, I convinced my wife to sell her larger house and move into my smaller condo. I was certain that the market would crash and burn and we'd buy a better house than she had at that time. The market has just gone up, and I take shit for it every day.

When this disaster ends, it is likely to be much worse than just giving up gains since the last year. If it isn't, I will be reminded of it until I die (or am divorced <g/ng>).
