I'm not sure what you disagree with. My post may not have been clear but I'm all for anything that equalizes the weapons of the little guy vs. the big guy. However, from experience, it just ain't court. One can only buy as much justice as he can afford. In criminal law, the saying goes "innocent until proven broke." In civil matters, it is worse in many ways. What I was trying to say was that an effective arbitration, small claims type board, perhaps online, with minimal discovery, could be the arbiter of many of these issues. The alternative choice is to get bogged down in years of litigation, six figure litigation, etc. I'm sure lawyers will hate this suggestion, but having seen and participated in all aspects of our judicial system, I have to say it is the most inefficient aspect of today's society. Finally, one has to look at the extreme ends of the spectrum. My concern was primarily with some of the gripe sites as Jeff M called them. One can ruin a repuation of an individual or a small business, just because of a personal grudge or affair. Domestic relations incidents often spur this type of stuff. If one has to spend tons of money clearing one's name or alternatively to develop one's own web site, then you really have not given any power to victims. BTW, I bet you really had a major effect on HD when you were shorting it. I was short HD for awhile so I guess I have to thank you for personally making me some major moolah!!! <ggg>
