There were several such cases, and when they were current I remember thinking the same things you have said here. It is why only dweebs rely on the police for their personal defense and safety as leftists are claiming should be the case. It is one of a sea of reasons why leftists are dweebs. Buy guns-- lots of them. Put them everywhere, with lots and lots of accessible ammo. Teach your entire family how to safely handle these tools and you won't have any problems at all. Hopefully, you'll never need to use them against a perp. But if you do, then it will likely be the case that the only reason you'll need to call the police in such instances is to have them come and clean up the mess.
