Dr Terry,

The thing I like about regression channels and BBs are that both are more quantitatively and objectively linked to price movement. Regression channels have a bit of advantage in a statistical sense, since the price range is essentially the 95% confidence interval limits around a mean of a distribution of prices.

Things like trend lines are useful of course, but are more subjective, are surrogates, and represent only a partial picture.

I fully agree with that statement Terry. The word subjective reminds me of one type of technical analysis that is based on the mathematic rhythm based on a study done in the 1800 of the reproductive cycle of rabbits.

The analytical methodology is flawed because too much is left up to the eye of the analyst to decide where one cycle up starts and to define what is and what is not a cycle to determine when the rhythm is complete, i.e. a top or a bottom.(i.e. it is subject to interpretation by the analyst and no two analysts will interpret the cycles the same way)

Do you know the name of the method that I am referring to?

Reid
