What you say is true and you've conveyed your stand in a reasonable manner. What complicates the issue is the fact that we (all of us) live in a time where the technology of man has accelerated beyond our own evolution as beings. While most of us still know right from wrong and have a moral compass we also have a desire continue to carry on as a species. What wins, desire to continue or technology, will determine the outcome of human history. The technology out there can eliminate us in a flash. We have not been appointed Judge but we do have a right and responsibility to act in the best interests of our culture and people. It would be nice if we never had a collision between cultures and peoples but at this point in time that isn't the case. Since we know that danger lurks and we know proliferation of certain substances could be used against us by regimes that have shown a propensity towards violence against us I think we had better be proactive. Iran is a HUGE concern for me right now and I assume it is to you as well.

<< the country has developed callus for profanity as there was no outrage for Dick Cheney cussing to a Senator. What does a child learn? Using profanity is OK since the VP of the most powerful country in the world does it?>>

While there is truth in what you say it would be a lot more powerful if they didn't already learn it at home in overwhelming numbers. Dick Cheney is not the reason our kids have foul mouths - TV and parents are. The problem here is that there are many Americans out there having kids that don't even qualify to have pets. Kids today exhibit that fact with their behavior daily. Thats really not my place to judge either according to the law of God but I find it very difficult to bite my tongue when poorly behaved kids with no direction or discipline from home are sitting next to my son 40 hours per week. What I do is what I assume most good parents do and thats spend extra time teaching my son values in hopes that when I'm no longer the coolest guy he knows he makes good decisions in my absence. I find The Andy Griffith Show to have some great lessons and I watch it with my son daily. I have Stalin like control over what he sees on TV and that will continue for quite a while. He has no Game Boy and No X Box. He doesn't even know they exist - yet! He does have a computer that I control and we also do tons of math and reading together. He's 6 and he's a real gem of a boy. He's advanced beyond his grade in every subject and his teachers rave about his performance an behavior. I'm not bragging I'm just proud because parenting is a lot of work if you want a quality person in the end. It's like anything else - garbage in - garbage out.
