Not as high as they are, presumably. But, all other things constant, my guess is that the price of oil would be rising now even if Iraq had remained at peace with its neighbours (and the US had not invaded it).

As I've commented before, the policies of the Chimp in Chief have almost certainly benefited me, since I'm more than 50% invested in energy stocks. It's a kind of a hedge - I lose politically but gain financially.
