Given their recent attempts at stage managing the news, it wouldn't surprise me if there isn't a series secret agreements that if Syria and Egypt makes some appropriate announcements, we would ignore it if they actually did something else. The media is cowed enough to go along with them... If democracy sweeps the region, so much the better. I am dubious for a number of reasons. But, like George Carlin used to say, "Hey, this could really happen!".
