You are hopelessly out of touch with reality, and what it takes and how long it takes to achieve great things. It's really funny listening to self-proclaimed "conservatives" talking about nation building with evangelical zeal. Real conservatives have been fighting the liberals zest for nation building for generations. I don't expect anything overnight; you are the one proclaiming overnight victory over Muslim fundamentalism (when you are not saying that it's a generational war). What I'm saying is that we have managed to unleash a lot of change in what was a pretty stable (and potentially dangerous) area of the world. These places are not going to turn into Anywhere, USA, a suburb of Omaha. We have no clue how this will evolve, and if it will be good or bad for the US. Conservatives traditionally practice realpolitik; liberals have your Pollyannish view of the world. You ought to work on your labels. John
