They believe that paying your tithes is necessary to get into heaven. That's what they tell the congregation. Whether or not the pastors believe it I don't know. I heard one Pastor claim that God will take revenge on your children if you don't pay tithes. that Pastor believed that he was entitled to the tithes for his personal use. You needed to give more to support the church. HIs exact words were, " If you don't tithe with an open heart, I fear for your children! ".
