Karen, The whizzing things over another's head came from experiences in business which caused me to call on people in places like NYC, Chi, and LA. At that time, I could still wear my boots with comfort, and did so wherever I went, because that was what I wore back home.

When these urban hot shots got a look at someone in cowboy boots, and a Resistol hat, all they saw was a hick, yokel, or redneck, and jump the the instant conclusion that person was ignorant. So I developed a habit of saying things, like calling a hard rain a "gully washer", or a "frog strangler", and mentioned that some people needed to learn how the cow ate the cabbage. By doing this, when it came to negotiating deals, they thought they were dealing with a fool that they could take advantage of. At the end of each session, I left with a big grin on my face.
