Glenn, Re: What makes you think that Fitzgerald is a "crook?" As for killing the Plame investigation, I have not come across anything that would suggest that he is a partisan prosecutor. Have you? With regards to the Plame scandal, the ineptness of the investigation, the fact that Fitzgerald is coddling the right wing extremist Robert Novak while engaging in an unprecedented and easily dismissed attack on Judith Miller and another journalist who did not publish on the Plame case, the fact that the White House seemingly is not being investigated directly, the fact that the case has drug on for over a year, the fact that Judith Miller is clearly a CIA (or at least Bush-friendly) disinformation agent, the fact that the case was allowed to fester past the election all indicate that Fitzgerald is engaged in partisanship, obstruction of justice and that indeed, he is a "crook". With regard to the prosecution of Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman and the bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993, it appears that Mr. Fitzgerald is part of a conspiracy to prosecute a patsy and further the agenda of the right-wing conspiracy that has stolen the reins of our federal government. I'd say that there is enough doubt raised in these two incidents for a sane observer to begin to doubt the picture presented to the American public of Mr. Fitzgerald by what is clearly an extremely biased, prostituted and corrupt mainstream media. As you know from following the Gannon/Guckert scandal, the bulging suitjacket scandal, the WMD scandal and dozens of other instances of media malfeasance and deception, you simply cannot believe what you read in the Chicago Tribune or any other national publication today. These people are lying scoundrels. There's no two ways about it. If the Tribune says you should naively take their word that Fitzgerald is your friend and advocate, I'd certainly think you are adult enough to be skeptical of this dubious claim.
