"You don't like the clamping down on the Superbowl so that the rest of us don't have to watch Jackson bare her tits to the world. You don't like it when people like Howard Stern are hounded on the airwaves, so that the rest of us don't have to listen to his worthless trash."

You know, there is this interesting little part of your radio, called the tuner. If you don't like what is there, you go to a different station. It works real well, I use it all the time...

Never listened to Stern. From what I know about his show, I am unlikely ever to. I have listened to Rush. My Dad listens to him all the time. I had my druthers, I wouldn't listen to him either. But I am not going to start a campaign to take him off the air.

I dunno, I find it disturbing that people, like you I guess, want to restrict what other people watch and listen to. And justifying it on moral grounds. I hate to belabor the point, but that is exactly the same clothes that the fascists dressed their censorship up in. He instituted his power grab in the name of fighting terrorism and reversing the moral decay of Germany. The fact that trotting these themes out doesn't raise the hair on the back of your neck is a scary thought.

>What you see as changes you don't like, the other 80% of us see as a return to normalcy from a period of immorality.

80%? What's up with the high ratings for Desperate Housewives (which I love) in the red states? Methinks that many of the people that say they're against this stuff watch it religiously.

Or perhaps it is groups like the ACLU that have held the rest of us hostage with their block by block dismantling of all the moral underpinnings of this country.

You throw this word, moral, around as if you invented it.

You don't like the clamping down on the Superbowl so that the rest of us don't have to watch Jackson bare her tits to the world.

No, I don't.......she showed a breast, not something horrific. When did a woman's body become so disgusting that it required the revamping of a major sporting event?

You don't like it when people like Howard Stern are hounded on the airwaves, so that the rest of us don't have to listen to his worthless trash.

I think what he has to say is trash and I do not listen to him. That is, of course, the very simple solution to the problem.......I don't turn him on. Why does something bother you that you are not hearing? Therein lies the crux of the problem, doesn't it? You just don't approve of him and because you don't approve, you don't want anyone else to hear him. You want to impose the right's neurosis on the rest of us. That sucks!

What you see as changes you don't like, the other 80% of us see as a return to normalcy from a period of immorality.

When did censorship become normal?

So you may be worried that our country is no longer tolerating immorality, because you miss it. So to you it smacks of dictatorship. But the rest of us don't miss it and are happy that it is gone.

That's exactly what worries me. You espouse democracy within reason.........your reason. That means you don't know when enough is enough. You really don't have a moral compass when it comes to freedom.

The only dictatorship is the one where the amoral and immoral dictate their views to us very publicly using the T.V. and radio. Good riddance.

And you all think you can bring democracy to the ME. Think again.
