I imagine the world as a ship with one disgustingly, rotted plank that keeps us from sinking. We have ideologues that will do everything they can to pull the plank out, even at the peril of the ship, because the rotten plank represent a blemish on their "Ship of the Ideal". This type of strategic idiocy comes from an inability to conduct assessment of the risk-reward ratios of various actions. It seems with this administration, they studied neither game theory or linear programming. Both disciplines have been credited with the survival of the U.S. in the last 70 years.
