Let Israel declare war on Syria, if they believe they have evidence. Whats stopping them ?

The political repercussions, of course. Why give Assad a chance to rally the Syrians to him? But no need to declare a war. Israel and Syria have been in a state of war for the last 57 years. But if Abbas is actually unhappy about this bombing (he seems so), this is a good chance to add another bit of pressure onto Damascus, perhaps even in concert with the PA.

In the past...politics.

I doubt that will constrain them now. Syria must continue to cooperate and now even that may not be enough.

This war is looking for a place to expand to. Damascus may get a class in incoming.
