No, when did they do this? It sounds absurd now. :)

In 1994 I had a subscription to the Economist. I thoroughly enjoyed the breadth of their international coverage which is otherwise hard to come by in the U.S. with our absurdly parochial press. But the Economist at that point in time went way out another limb, and declared the Mexican Peso to be worthy of investing in... just about 2 months prior to Salinas' 40% devaluation of the Peso. Ooops. I've used the Economist as a contrary indicator ever since. :)
