I agree. We also have to keep in mind the differences between the wahabi sunni terrorists and the iran/shiaa variety. Iran is not a country made up of suicide bombers. Yes they did and do state sponsored terrorism to counteract their weakness vis a vis the hated west who they felt betrayed them with support of the sha. Now so many years later, there is really one outstanding political issue that divides the US and Iran and that is Israel/Pal. For years Iran has been the rejectionist working against any peace in the region to the detriment of both israelis and pals who have crossed them. Maybe this band of moolahs as bush called them, needs to die first but in iran, i would imagine most folks look for a peaceful settlement there and understand Israel cannot be defeated militarily. Of course that has also fueled the wish for nukes even to the point that one hysterical mooolah once said he would be happy to trade Tehran for Tel Aviv in a nuke exchange. I dare say that couldnt be the wish of the average iranian or the other clerics.
PS Notice who the terrorists are targeting in iraq. Some insurgency--they killed one american today and about 150 shiaa iraqis. Their target is to create civil war so they can make a comeback. They are not winning but they are proving that assymetric warfare has to be dealt with better that we are able to at this time. Time for a whole new military look at warfare today. mike
