C,

<Do you see it as a legitimate oil sands play?>

Yes, definitely.

CLL did an equity financing Nov 26, 29 2004, eliminating all debt.

For their S. American operation, 61% owned Petrolifira, read this (focus on Block 106,107)
connacheroil.com

As for oil sands, they have four pods in oil sands. Each has 'original oil in place' of 140 million bbl. That is 560 million bbl. They put recoverable at 53mm bbl each pod. UTS valued these barrels at 0.17, so 212*0.17=C$36m

They have been drilling in Pod 1 to determine the extent of the resource (the 53mm/pod was assigned with no drilling)
Read this: "Connacher is encouraged the accumulation may be larger than previously mapped". The rumor is that is it fcuking huge.
connacheroil.com

Another way to look at it is they have 64640 acres of oil sands. In the most recent auction, the acreage went for an avg of C$2300. At that price, the land value is C$148,672,000

The current value is based on producing properties:
93.7m shares, 0.77, $72.1m

Prodn 1000 bpd through their S. American subsidiary plus licenses 106,107 are enough for the current valuation of C$70m

The oil sands are a freebie. They come with the Pirate Pak. This year only.

D

As always, please do yur own DD.
