Phil > Argentina wins. How can this be possible when it has resources and people to pay?

No, the system wins. The bankers are laughing. The Argentibian politicians are patting each other on the back about how they "faced down" the foreign bankers. The IMF and US bankers are also smiling at their 30c on the dollar because they know it could have been worse. But the Argentinian "people" are stuffed. No work, no pay, no state benefits, high taxation -- and no complaints.

> And what kind of example does it set?

A good one. Now everyone knows what to expect when the US defaults. So, it's either keep the game going or else get 30c on the dollar -- if you are lucky.

> Soon all will be forgotten, and life goes on as before and the greedy money lenders will return to Argentina.

Sure. I see you know the game already.
