And I should caution you......there have been times over the past two years when it looked like Bush's excellent adventure was going to pay off only to have it fall back in the muck. And during the past two years, the overall trend has been down. So I would hold off bringing out the champagne and pretzels. But why don't you ever celebrate the good developments, ever? I did.......after shock and awe........even though I had not expect it would turn out that way. And of course, the shock and awe victory proved to be short lived. If GB did it, is it wrong for you no matter what? Why don't you ever, ever say something along the lines of "the current situation in Lebanon is good, and is directly related to GB's actions in the ME over the past 3 years, and he deserves credit for that" (if nothing else)??? I don't believe that horrific and senseless violence will lead to democracy........esp. when that violence is being perpetrated by an outside power who is the one fighting for the democracy, and not the people of that nation. In the meantime, the cost to the US in terms of people killed and maimed, and money spent is significant. In the end, should a miracle happen and Iraq becomes democratic, it will not be worth the cost IMO. ted

I think you are underestimating Ted's fanaticism. He is so emotionally involved in his hate, that defeat of Bush, all the obstacles that could prevent Bush re-election were hopeful developments for Ted. So all the enemies of America (with or without Bush leading it) suddenly became Ted's friends, every terrorist attack, every death in Iraq was a stepping stone to be celebrated by Ted. Joe
