The net has been a blessing and a curse for the used book business. A blessing, yes. A curse? Maybe for some. But our local used book store (how do you say that without it sounding as though the store, rather than the book, is used?) is only able to stay in business because of the internet. More than half their profits come from intenet sales. It's been a boon to them. And I'm sure Powell's sells more books because of the internet. It seems to me to be one of those win-win deals.
