They are willing to discuss any possibilities, even out of your personal narrowly-defined box, as long as they don't prejudge anything.

Summers didn't.

You do.

We wanted Summers to release the transcript of his speech. We wanted him to say what he wanted to say. We want him to be able to defend what he said.

We don't have to like what he said. In fact, we didn't like what he said. We want him to clarify what he said and answer some questions that were raised by what he said.

Similarly with you. If you have a point of view that you want to raise, bring it up. We are all adults here. We can take it. Our feelings are not going to be hurt if you know something that is truthful. Go ahead and make your point.

We agree with you. We do not want to stifle anyone. We want the truth to come out.

We want Summers point of view. We want some specificity. We want to know what he thinks.

Sometimes people say things on a very shallow level and have not thought it through. We want Dr. summers to present his point of view, thoroughly.

If he has a question that he wants to explore, we want him to lay it out for us.

If you are an important person, you can't just go around and shout "there may be a fire", "there may be danger", and just leave it there. You have to explain it.

We do not want to stifle debate. Bring it on.
