Here Lizzie. You were right about the 70's They were not good years. Let's hope the 2000's aren't like the 70's. If they are, then we're in trouble. If Bush can manage not to start any other wars and the dominos keep tumbling in the Middle East, then I think the rest of this decade can be a very good one.

My gut feeling is that Bush is through with the wars. He's made his point. The whole world knows he's crazy enough to launch a war now. So when he threatens military action, they will believe him. That gives him lots of leverage to get Iran and North Korea to move to the negotiating table. Our work in Afghanistan and Iraq is almost over. In the next year or two, we'll be able to draw down our military appreciably, which should help us to reduce the deficits. If Abbas and Sharon can find peace, as well as Iran and North Korea getting resolved, things could look really good over the next 5 years.
