1. I don't WANT free drinks. THEY want you to take them. Your brain REALLY works better when it's nice and soggy with alcohol, doesn't it?

2. The above is simply more scheming on the part of the casino.

3. Yes, the distrbution of the deals was NOT that that would occur with a real shuffled-and-cut deck of cards. The distribution seen was skewed.

<<that being a lack of randomness in the cards the machine dealt. >>

Were you playing video poker? Legal here for fun but not for gambling, ie the guy has the bartender check the machine and get paid for the games won.

A guy in Springfield was running a bunch of those in bars with the pay back and hired several others in other towns to extend his area. He got busted and the guy who did his Bloomington area and his wife who kept the books got called in front of the Federal Grand Jury. That night in the bar it was we snowed that jury. Ate it up hook, line and sinker. Harharhoho. So tickled it was like they robbed Fort Knox and had feathers up their butts.

Six months later the Feds cuffed them for lying to the jury. Looking at 5 years and $500,000 fines each the ha ha went out of the situation.

I zeroed in on a machine I was reasonably sure would send me out with more money than I walked in with.

How did you determine that?

I'm not sure I agree that any slot machine is really hot or not. I think you just got lucky.

Too bad I didn't get to meet anyone this time. Still Vegas was fun enough, if a bit expensive.

Next time I think I will plan ahead more, both in terms of lining up a room and a flight and in terms of arrangeing to meet people. I'm not sure if I will make it every year, but if I'm not there nexy year I'll make a stong effort the year after.

Or we could do Atlantic City next year. Then I could drive to it and save some money.
