What will happen is real estate speculators who don't feel sufficiently leveraged owning contracts on four unbuilt condos will go long these MACROS margined to the hilt making for a more spectacular personal melt-down. Why go to the trouble of waiting in line to put down a deposit when you can invest in r/e without ever actually owning r/e? Of course profunds will come out with a fund designed to produce 200% of the gain in the MACROS.
