$200 jeans? $800 sheets? i love stupid Puritanical articles like that, written by Masters of the Obvious. while she's at it, why doesn't she mention the news that smoking's bad for your health. include the obligatory Vonnegut quote for extra verbiage. she's getting paid by the word, after all. how about $1100 for a plastic doll? is that dumb or smart? that's what we paid for a Sasya SD a couple years ago, and lately she's been going for four times that in auctions on Yahoo Japan. volks.co.jp Paying a premium now for image and brand cuts into our real quality of life down the road. the irony is that the greatest consumers of high-end brand products are Asians, who also happen to be the world's best savers. the Japanese account for something like 50% of the sales of brands like Louis-Vuitton, Hermes, Prada...
