why are you saying the rally will be larger than you think? Is this a question of what 3 (iii of 5 vs iii of 1 of 5?) or something else?

Exactly. I have been working on the assumption we are in a 5 up on the weeklies and we are near the end of the Oct 2002 wave. But lets assume for a minute that the superbullish reads on NT and F are correct. That implies months of rally for those two stocks which admittedly may mean nothing to the broader market.

But it may be a clue that the market has much more to go.

It's very hard for me to look at the semis and be bearish

SOX rallied out of 2002 low in 3 waves. It came down (from 560+ to 350) and overlapped with the top of Dec 2002. The recent decline into the Jan 24 2005 low retraced almost 70% of the preceding rally since last September.

Choppy moves, overlaps.... that's what the chart shows. I have no difficulty remaining sceptical about the SOX.
