Believe Germany's problems have more to do with socialized labor laws than the strong euro. The strong euro doesn't help but it's not the cause. A buddy of mine was living in Berlin for a few years until 2 years ago. He married a German girl who is about as highly educated as possible... the first thing they did after she completed her masters was move back to the USA for her employment. She would not have found work as a graduate, and most of her recently graduated friends have not found work! In Germany it is almost impossible to fire someone after they've worked for you for 6 months. So the real cost of labor is very high having to keep incompetents on the payroll and leaving little flexibility to hire new.
