I believe in reincarnation. I also believe in karma. I do not see it as mercy to let a murder go unpunished as the person would then carry that karmic debt on to their next life. The arguments that have the most influence on me against the death penalty are 1. the fact that there is still a possibility of executing an innocent person and 2. the inequity of our justice system based on wealth or lack thereof. Your point is also taken about influence of the adult in the situation. I am not strongly opinionated enough about this issue to campaign on it one way or the other.
