I do not believe in "The Vedic system of "balancing" so-called "good karma" against
"bad karma" as a means of Enlightenment " as you put it. I believe in the conclusions of the Bhagavad Gita which are something quite different altogether.

But if one believes in karma, then one understands that we are receiving karmic results from activities in past lives that we do not remember (as we simultaneously are creating new karmic reactions by our current activities) There is no memory of what those particular activities were, nor an understanding of whether they were right or wrong. But still the reactions are there. So a consciousness of the process is not a requirement. It happens none the less.

There is a limit to how far I will take this discussion in this public and potentially hostile forum, but if you want to take it private I can be more candid.
