<Unions have had ZERO effect on my earnings.> None? Not even indirectly? How is such a thing even possible in a free market? It's all one big economic morass and even if you are a boss (or only an investor) it affects your relative compensation. Economics ties all things together, much like physics ties you to the planet. Somehow, you have established in your mind that you are independent from everyone (death row inmates and Afghani rug makers).

The cheaper the day laborer, the cheaper all laborers, the cheaper the product, higher the profits with more going to owners. Perhaps you got your present economic worth through investment only, but even then you can't claim zero.

<Why don't you want to talk about unions?> I don't care about unions except as one mechanism for collective barganing and empowerment for a large class of people who are left to hang in the "free market".
