"Having said you raised a very good point about the use of nukes against bin laden or his islam terrorists I can't help but wonder if bin laden and his kind would have the same concerns about that kind of affect from nukes in the USA."

Personally my plan for responding to 9/11 was to kill every single member of Bin Laden's extended family, including sons, daughters, grandchildren, parents, second cousins etc.

Most people find that approach cruel, though my position is it is less cruel than what we have actually done.

In any case, most of humanity believes (or pretends to believe) that killing people who have not harmed you is very, very wrong. Christ took it a step further and asked us to forgive our enemies, but then who listens to him.

The fact that there are people in the world who are willing to slaughter innocent people in enormous numbers does not in any way justify our killing innocent people in enormous numbers ... whether Bin Laden is willing to attack us with a nuclear weapon has nothing to do with whether it is appropriate for us to kill people with nuclear weapons.

The development of "tactical nukes" may change the equation, but as things stand the use of nuclear weapons equals the death of many, many innocent people.

So the point you raise is totally irrelevant.

What someone else will or may do is not a relevant concern for when deciding what I am willing to do.
