One has to wonder where the NYTs got their statistics.

I have a hard time believing that the majority of the public believes the govt should provide a decent standard of living for anyone. I know at least 51% of them would argue that point.......the 51% that voted for Bush.

What is interesting is that it will be our children and grandchildren that carry the burden of supporting you and I in our old age. Maintaining the status quo would be good for us boomers.

Republicans need to do a better job of explaining what is happening to SS, and our children and grandchildren had better be careful what they wish for.

I don't think Bush.....who has made SS reform his priority.....is going to let the NYTs, Kennedy, Wimpy..er...Reid, Pelosi or anyone else detract him from his responsibility. Treasury Secretary Snow just kicked off a 60 day, 60 city tour.
