Re: " Actually, it's $14.95 per month"

No, actually, it's only $10 if you choose (for this Napster price option, you can't put em to an MP3 player at all- ahem, technically, that is, re: ripping a new mp3 from a song onto the old computer would make that possible too...and favorites so handled would last forever). For $10 and a broadband connection, I can play songs at will, without even having to actually save a copy (though I can save them so they start a little quicker than when streaming them in). I can click one song at a time 'til I have a long list, and they stream-in playing automatically. I can choose to save or just stream-in, from a huge load of classic rock or whatever, any song I want (with notable exceptions), any time I want, as often as I want. I could even stream-in a song and rip it onto the old computer as it plays, without ever downloading a copy to the computer with the Napster account. Then it would be mine forever.

I say, given the possibilities, and inflation, and even without cheating to the old computer and my memories of making tapes from albums in real-time, surely the "rental" method may continue to appeal. My god, this is less per month than I spent during my prime music buying years over 30 years ago, and so long as I pay it, I can hear at home (most of my listening was at home back when anyway) dang near everything save the beatles (Napster doesn't have them, but of course I've got em already anyhow). I don't have to wait 'til next week when I go to the store and finally pay for a new album to listen to, I can listen tons of albums right away, this week and every week.
