Innocent Iraqis were deliberately killed under the Sadam regime, so I don't exactly see your point.

That is not a OK reason for us to kill them instead of Saddam killing them.

...you and Sioux prefer to characterize our military in that light...

Don't insult me by putting words in my mouth. Instead look at your compregensive skills. Militaries are not good or bad. They just follow what they are told to do. It is our leaders who are to blame. You do not et the military loose in the midst of civilian population. The militaries' code of engagement is "shoot to kill". Their code is not that of a police force. They shoot to kill and we support that. Where we let them loose to shoot to kill is what Bush decides. And that is not what we support.

...vilify our military and our country..

This is not your military neither it is mine. Stop wrapping yourself around the American flag. This flag belongs to all of us. The only difference is that many of us do not consider ourselves as sissies to wrap that flag around

...there are foreign merceneries in Iraq precisely to kill civilians and to be disruptive.

Why is it you think that the US who has signed documents to respect sovereignty and respect of international borders has a right to be in a foreign country such as Iraq? If US cannot lead and show the world that we respect those norms, then how do you expect a band of rag tag fighters to obey those.

Are you willing to bet that those rag tag bandits will stay on in Iraq if the US leaves Iraq. Do you seriously believe (unless you are brainwashed by the likes of Limbaugh) that the mercenaries are in their there to kill their "Muslim brothers and sisters" and not the US soldiers instead?

You need to recalibrate your thinking, my friend. You have been consumed by Goebellian propaganda, similar to what the Soviets went through under the communist regime. It tool them 70 years that they had made a mistake in 1917. I hope, that since you are an American, you a smart person and hence would refuse to fall for the right wing propaganda.
