What you see in Frame 42 is that the perimeter columns of the tower remain intact to a point several floors above the impact zone. Above that, we find that the entire structure has compressed by several pixel units, with the communications tower coming down even more, indicating that the collapse is being initiated in the core of the building. To me, as a builder with 25 years experience and someone who has studied engineering, this is a counterintuitive result if the official fantasy about a progressive failure of the floor trusses is to be believed. Metaphorically, you might conceptualize the building as an old-fashioned phonograph player, with a central spindle upon which the records slide down to the platter. The collapse of the trusses really shouldn't be initiated by the columns of the central core, which are, after all, the very elements that are designed to resist the gravity load. Not only must you view the central core as being capable of resisting the gravity load, but they also were designed to have the requisite stiffness to resist hurricane force winds of 140 MPH. Thus, they are over-engineered by a factor of somewhere between 500% and 1,000% of the actual static gravity load in order to provide the requisite stiffness to prevent occupants from getting seasick in big winds. So the core is massively overbuilt for the gravity loads. Take a look at the elements here: home.comcast.net At the lowest levels, the central core columns consisted of 14"x36"x4" thick box girders. These are massive elements. How they could have been mangled and destroyed by a simple gravitational load of floor pans shearing away from the core is one of the great mysteries that FEMA and NIST have utterly failed to address. As Bill Manning, the editor of Fire Engineering Magazine so angrily stated in January, 2002, the investigation into the collapse of the WTC towers was "a half-baked farce". tinyurl.com
