Re: Why the hell would they choose a target like the WTC that would hurt the economy and all of these businesses.

Because blowing up the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City wasn't enough shock & awe to persuade the American public to move to a perpetual war footing. In fact, Murrah hardly managed to move the police state legislation it was designed to further in the Congress.

Now when it came to pushing the USA PATRIOT Act through Congress, not even 9/11 was quite enough, so we had the domestically created anthrax terror mailed to the Democratic leadership in the Senate to make sure that they got the message.

Besides which, the WTC isn't really necessary for the purposes of the militarist-capitalist clique. And as you may have noticed, whoever attacked the Pentagon took extreme measures to make sure that the command & control side of the building was not harmed, in spite of the fact that apparently the building would have been much easier to hit on the East Side where all the brass have their offices.

Re: Think about it this way: this administration and much of our government are very much beholden to corporate American.

But you must distinguish between the war profiteers, who had everything to gain from a "new Pearl Harbor" and the financial sector, who actually had a lot to gain when WTC 7 collapsed, and destroyed the only hard copy evidence for about 2,000 active SEC investigations into corporate fraud.

Re: You really are completely sick.

I'm reminded of Gandhi's thought. "First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they attack you, then you win."

Well, we've arrived at step two, my friend. Time for you to step up the attack, old boy! ;')

You will be hard pressed to find that my "sickness" is anything other than my homesickness for the America that we used to love and which George Bush and the rest of his rapacious band of thugs are hellbent to destroy as quickly as possible.

Say, old timer, can you help a fellow out? I can't seem to get my government to answer any of these questions, can you?

You know, it strikes me as being somewhat odd that I've striven mightly to answer these questions in the last 3 years, and I can't seem to get any satisfaction. Especially from the government. Why do you suppose that might be, Z?

Total bullshit.

Total.

Why are you acting so threatened? There are events surrounding
9/11 which have not been explained to my satisfaction. For an example, who were the people in the white van? This is what's been reported:

"Who do you think they were? Palestinians? Saudis? Iraqis, even? Al-Qaeda, surely? Wrong on all counts. They were Israelis – and at least two of them were Israeli intelligence agents, working for Mossad, the equivalent of MI6 or the CIA."

<snip>

"A warrant was issued for a search of the Urban Moving premises in Weehawken in New Jersey. Boxes of papers and computers were removed. The FBI questioned the firm’s Israeli owner, Dominik Otto Suter, but when agents returned to re-interview him a few days later, he was gone. An employee of Urban Moving said his co-workers had laughed about the Manhattan attacks the day they happened. “I was in tears,” the man said. “These guys were joking and that bothered me. These guys were like, ‘Now America knows what we go through.’”"

<snip>

"Two weeks after their arrest, the Israelis were still in detention, held on immigration charges. Then a judge ruled that they should be deported. But the CIA scuppered the deal and the five remained in custody for another two months. Some went into solitary confinement, all underwent two polygraph tests and at least one underwent up to seven lie detector sessions before they were eventually deported at the end of November 2001. Paul Kurzberg refused to take a lie detector test for 10 weeks, but then failed it. His lawyer said he was reluctant to take the test as he had once worked for Israeli intelligence in another country."

<snip>

"The respected New York Jewish newspaper, The Forward, reported in March 2002, however, that it had received a briefing on the case of the five Israelis from a US official who was regularly updated by law enforcement agencies. This is what he told The Forward: “The assessment was that Urban Moving Systems was a front for the Mossad and operatives employed by it.” He added that “the conclusion of the FBI was that they were spying on local Arabs”, but the men were released because they “did not know anything about 9/11”."

<snip>

"Back in Israel, several of the men discussed what happened on an Israeli talk show. One of them made this remarkable comment: “The fact of the matter is we are coming from a country that experiences terror daily. Our purpose was to document the event.” But how can you document an event unless you know it is going to happen?"

Do you know for a fact that all the people who were said to be on those planes died on those planes? Its true that Netanyahu was elated when he heard of the attack. This is what he said:

"After the attacks on New York and Washington, the former Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, was asked what the terrorist strikes would mean for US-Israeli relations. He said: “It’s very good.” Then he corrected himself, adding: “Well, it’s not good, but it will generate immediate sympathy [for Israel from Americans].”"

These comments are not from some blog on the net; they are from the Sunday Herald of Scotland....a well respected paper.

Frankly, I am surprised. Its not like you to silence debate in this fashion.
