Do you understand the dynamic principle of a fulcrum and lever? Ever watch acrobats using said principle?

Were talking about a massive amount of beams and columns collapsing. The possible arrangements of the beams and columns taking on many different configurations. A large beam with a piece of another beam laying across it over a column when a falling mass hits the other end of the beam it would launch the steel. The direction of the launched piece of steel could be lateral.

If it were a blast as you postulate, then why is there only a couple of steel pieces being flung? Where is the fire from the blast?
