There is so much there.

On education. Yes, Secondary Education in the United States is in a sorry state. To make up for this, the United States has the finest colleges and universities in the world. Did you know that a greater percentage of African Americans have college degrees than the percentage of Europeans (in the EU) with college degrees? Whites in the United States have a college graduation rate close to 3 times the rate of college graduation in France? Asians in America graduate from college at over twice the rate as the Japanese?

On health. Unlike other countries, the United States is multi-ethnic and multi-racial. If you break down American life expectancy numbers by race and ethnicity: American Asians have the same life expectancy as the Japanese (longest national life expectancy in the world), Whites live as long as the typical european (German, UK, Italy). American hispanics have a longer life expectancy than whites. Cancer survival (5 year)in the U.S. in general better than the EU. Which is interesting, given the fact that the nations in the EU have nationalized health care, which should mean better screening for cancers and early detection (which is important in survival).

On the Economy. There has been very poor economic growth in the EU compared to the United States for over a decade. What gains they may have made in the 70's and early 80's have been given back. Stagnant growth and record unemployment rates is the general state of the EU of today.
