I think of it as miles per gallon per person. I love an SUV or a minivan if it's hauling people, but most I see are carting air.

It is an E=mc2 situation. The average U.S. family with two drivers is now paying $1100 more annually for gas than they were two years ago. Some pay more, some pay less, the $1.1k figure is an average.

Now, when you look at this number against household income for Joe Six Pack, and this is a brewing shitstorm.
Also add in the increasing cost of auto insurance, etc....

Costs are going up. And guess what, wages are not keeping pace.
