I believe what we've experienced for the last three years is inflation psychology having permeated the purchase decisions for a number of commodities, including real estate, oil, industrial commodities, etc. With the relatively slow increase in wages, thanks to pressures from offshoring and labor importation, people are stretching to purchase properties because they feel that if they don't make the purchase now, they will never get a more affordable opportunity.
