Where did you get that shit? LOL. What's your guess for military spending?

Just look at the projections for social security spending. My guess for defense spending is that it doesn't climb much in inflation adjusted terms. It couldn't climb the way social security and medicare have and will climb unless you expect the US to do a world war type of mobilization.

Come on. Remember the "unified budget"? SS has been inflow, military has been outflow.

SS taxes have been inflow. SS spending is outflow. Defence is just outflow because we have no special "defence tax".

We need to reduce spending, and in my opinion, military is the first place.

Even if it is the first place it can't be the main place if we are serious about deep reductions in spending. Military spending is less than 1/5th of all projected spending for 2006. To make serious cuts you have to go after the 4/5ths. Esp. when the 1/5th has been had a strong trend downwards as a percentage of spending.

Why is bush not suggesting that the trust fund begin to cash some of the bonds (to the tune of a couple hundred $B yearly) and invest them in the stock market. Or better, dole them out to the folks who paid the money in and let them invest them?
