I believe you're right as far as big-time terrorism is concerned. However, as far as the US is concerned, FAR-RIGHT terrorist cells are not ALL controlled and/or manipulated by the "ugly federal government"... If only because racism, supremacism and religious bigotry are so deeply ingrained in the South --and, increasingly, beyond. Four hundred --over FOUR HUNDRED-- militias are thriving all across the US --do you realize what it means? We are not talking about peaceful retirees indulging in paintball games or Swiss reservists or teenagers having a thrill at life-sized wargames.... Those militia nuts are in cahoots with military officers in US bases who smuggle their top-notch weaponry for a few bucks on the side... They further enjoy support from all those freak churches and cults that blend white supremacism with Christianity... and when their silly shenanigans get out of hand every once in a while, the local pols just look the other way --think of Governors Wallace, Trent Lott, David Duke, etc. The federal authorities and the White House are well alive to that sorry state of affairs yet are reluctant to stir the hornets' nest: white supremacist nuts can bomb and blow up all the Oklahoma Cities they want and get away with it!!
