I think you are right. Bush has rode 9-11 and the "War on Terror" - BTW I guess he just discovered terror after 9-11, even though we had the first WTC bombing, OKC bombing (an ex US military..), Cole, overseas embassies, etc, etc, all before 9-11. Bush got on the terror horse, and rode it to re-election, no doubt in my mind about that. Now they are hell bent on dismantling the entire New Deal, by the reckless tax cuts, huge increases in military spending on Iraq and other things, and blowing up the deficit to all time highs - Reagan Part 2?? He got in this time by a hair (re-election), because they keep beating the fear drum to the American people). Someday they will be right - but notice how they keep bringing up new threats every 4-6 months - new alerts - but never actually get Bin Laden? And notice how they are not really held responsible by Americans for the lack of security before 9-11, despite the warnings? Sad.
